- Subject: WinTalk and Winsock---Incompatable?
-
- I have had winsock for a little under a week now....and have found many nice
- apps...partially due to many of you... :) anyway...I found Wintalk on
- ftp.halcyon.com ( /pub/slip/talk ) and when I first ran it it worked
- fine...One time I tried to talk to someone who wasn't there...and it crashed
- the windock DLL...causing it to shut down (General Protection Fault thing
- AGAIN ) I had to erase the installed wintalk and put it back in from the
- zip file to get it running again... otherwise it crashed winsock when
- wintalk was started...
-
- Now...I was wondering if there is a newer version out that fixes this or
- what...I have v1.0 and could not find any other version... It is a nice
- program if I could get it to work...
-
- I tried it under Windows...and OS/2....same thing...
-
- I have: 486DX40
- 16 MB Ram
- 14.4 modem
- Winsock 1.0 (can't find any newer...where is 1.1 or 1.11?)
-
- If anyone has solved this or knows how to avoid the crash...please email me at
- diverman@asleeis.extern.ucsd.edu Thanks...
